Jenna is currently working to obtain her CVT while working full time at Hilltop. Not one for sitting still, Jenna has a lifelong love of animals and is an active member of the Chihuahua Club of America, the Southern Colorado Kennel Club, and the Miniature Pincher Club of America. She actively shows and trains champion Toy Breed dog across the United States.
Jenna loves both people and pets and is passionate about enhancing the Human Animal Bond, Preventative Care and educating our wonderful clients. Jenna has worked in the veterinary field for 4 years before coming to Hilltop. Her special interests in the veterinary field include preventative medicine, reproduction, behavior, radiology and parasitology. Jenna joined Hilltop in June of 2015 as the first 'new' employee to come on board following Hilltop's ownership transition and Jenna states 'I'm proud to be a part of the Hilltop team and am looking forward to improving the lives of the pets and owners we see each and every day!'
Jenna enjoys spending time with Scooter and Dior (her 4 and a half year old long coat Chihuahua's). In her free time she enjoys learning about new topics, keeping up to date on industry standards, hiking with her 'kids', training and conditioning for shows, cooking, reading, travel and photography.
DevlinCertified Veterinary Technician
Devlin wanted to work with animals since she was 8 years old. She began her career in Veterinary Medicine approximately three years as a kennel assistant and then attended Bel Rea Institute of Veterinary Technology.
Devlin earned her degree as a Certified Veterinary Technician in 2017. She has worked in emergency, general practice and shelter hospitals. She is always striving to do better and to push those around her to do the same. We are excited for her to bring her passion and skills to the Hilltop family.
Her pets are her life with her pride and joy being 1 cat (Russet), and 2 dogs (Tigra and Mater). In her free time she enjoys Roller Derby, snowboarding, camping/hiking and just being outdoors.
ElenaCertified Veterinary Assistant
Elena is a 2006 graduate in veterinary assisting and joined the Hilltop family in September, 2015. With over 10 years of extensive veterinary assistant work, Elena combines her great skill set with a passion for the patients, the clients and the community that we serve, and states 'I feel very blessed to join a team that allows me to utilize my skills and also challenges me to grow. The vision of Dr. Crook and Kathy Crook is in alignment with the passion and love I have for our patients, clients and community...to provide outstanding care for every individual.'
Elena is married with 4 children and currently does not have any four legged babies, but states that allows her to dog sit for all her beloved little critters. Elena's favorite breed is the Dachshund, but she states that she really just loves them all.
GabbyCertified Veterinary Assistant
Gabby has wanted to work with animals from the time she was 6 years old. Many of Hilltop's beloved clients already knew Gabby from the five years she worked across the street at the Paw Cottage boarding facility, and can't forget her because of her warm, caring, positive attitude and bright happy smile! She came to Hilltop in 2015 after graduating from PIMA Medical Institute as a Veterinary Assistant. Gabby states that since starting at Hilltop, '...it has been such a blessing to get the opportunity to work with such an amazing staff... Every day we all come to work and we live by our Mission Statement, 'Improving Lives One Pet at a Time!”
Outside of work, Gabby enjoys spending time with her son and finance, as well as their 6 pets. Gabby has 3 cats, 2 dogs and a spider. Gabby also enjoys adding to her “101 Dalmatians” collection, working out, and playing video games as well as watching the Denver Broncos (her 'one and only team”).
KristaCertified Veterinary Assistant
Krista is a recent 2018 graduate of PIMA Medical Institute’s Veterinarian Assistant’s program. She did her externship here at Hilltop and knew that she wanted to be a part of this family. She has been with Hilltop since April of 2018 as a part-time Certified Veterinarian Assistant and loves working with all the animals that come to visit. Krista is continuing her education at PIMA to become a Certified Veterinarian Technician.
Krista has always wanted to work with animals, but went into education and graduated from CSU-Pueblo as a teacher. After teaching for three years her heart was still pulled towards wanting to work with animals which led her to PIMA and then to Hilltop.
In her free time, she loves spending time with her parents, siblings, niece and nephew, and the many dogs around the house: Skyy, Riley, and her little Annie, and sometimes Toby and Oakley.
AmyLead Kennel Assistant
Amy is a Veterinary Assistant at Hilltop and she loves it! She joined our team as a kennel assistant in September, 2016 and hit the ground running. She leaped into the job and found her passion! She is a workaholic who enjoys safety, organization, and cleanliness. She loves all furry friends and will be sure to welcome them to our clinic when she sees them.
Since Amy has started at Hilltop she has grown from Kennel Assistant to Lead Kennel Assistant to Veterinary Assistant. She has also become a Certified Veterinary Assistant Level 1 and 2 and is working on Level 3. She loves to learn about what she is passionate about and always asks lots of questions. One of her favorite things to learn and talk about is laser therapy. She hopes to become a Certified Laser Therapist soon!
Amy is a Washington State native who moved to Colorado in 2016. She misses the rain of the Pacific Northwest, but loves the people of Colorado! She and her husband have recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary and purchased their first home.
In her free time, Amy likes to learn as much as she can about different topics in the veterinary industry, including: anesthesia, surgical assisting, cleanliness, safety, animal behavior, laser therapy, and handling techniques. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, eating chocolate, playing the piano, and talking on the phone. She loves to travel to warm places and adores all things Disney. Amy owns one French Bull dog named Cassie, who is adorable and loves being cuddled by anyone!
LeahLeah - Kennel Assistant
Leah is an avid animal lover. She has always had animals in her life and feels life wouldn’t be normal without animals in it. She is a Colorado native and grew up in Colorado Springs, but moved to Pueblo West 17 years ago with her family. This is where she discovered her love for working with all types of animals.
Leah showed horses and dogs for 10 years and has always known she wanted to work with animals. She was originally a client at Hilltop. Seeing how Hilltop helped improve her animals lives was so inspiring and she wanted to help be a part of a team that strives it improve lives one pet at a time. Leah joined Hilltop in the spring of 2017 as a kennel assistant. Leah feels blessed to be working at Hilltop and working with such an amazing team.
Outside of work, Leah enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys and loves being a “soccer mom” to her boys! Some of her hobbies include photography and cake decorating. She also enjoys riding her horses and taking care of variety of animals including 1 dog, 1 rabbit, 2 horses, 1 bearded dragon and a hermit crab.
KiaraClient Care Specialist/Kennel Assistant
Kiara was born in Olympia, Washington and moved to Colorado Springs shortly afterwards where her little sister, Zöe, was born. She graduated from Doherty High School in 2017 and is currently studying Pre-Veterinary Medicine/Biochemistry at CSU-Pueblo. Kiara is also pursuing internship opportunities working with endangered Mojave Desert Tortoises, as well as at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.
Kiara joined Hilltop in January of 2018 and has grown to love the second home that she has made here
She currently still lives in Colorado Springs with her family, which includes three dogs (Zeus, Hunter, and Beaux), a leopard gecko (Rex), and three chinchillas (Mortimer, Millis, and Conner). Though her pets and internships keep her busy, in her spare time, Kiara enjoys playing volleyball, dancing with friends, and spending time outdoors.
AngelaClient Care Specialist/Admin. Assistant
Angela is a 2003 graduate of the University of Southern Colorado-Pueblo (currently known as Colorado State University-Pueblo) in Computer Information Systems, with a minor in Business Administration.
She joined the Hilltop family June 2016, and utilizes her twelve years of administrative experience to help Hilltop as receptionist, administrative duties, patient records and everything else!
Outside of work Angela enjoys spending time with her family, which includes a Toy Poodle named Missy, and two Chihuahuas named Buster, and Dusty.
Cindy - Office Assistant
Cindy grew up on a farm in Pennsylvania and then moved to California during her early and adult life. She attended college and became a licensed Psychiatric Technician.Cindy worked with the State of California in various nursing and psychiatric facilities. She retired after 38 years as a Program Director in 2015 and moved with her husband and youngest of five children to Pueblo West.
Cindy joined Hilltop as a receptionist in a part-time role. She is excited to work with staff and pets at Hilltop and to use her skills to help the clinic, clients, and pets!
Cindy has two dogs and two cats who demand much of her attention when home. Her hobbies include puzzles, jigsaw, video games, and visual puzzles. She loves camping with her husband and enjoying the beauty of Colorado.
AshleyClient Care Specialist
Ashley joined the Hilltop team in March, 2018. She was born in Denver and moved to Pueblo West at the age of 5. She graduated from Pueblo West High School and has completed two years of college at Colorado State University – Pueblo and University of Northern Colorado.
Ashley has always had a passion for animals and grew up with many dogs, cats, horses, turkeys, chickens and ducks. She participated in 4-H for many years showing her horses and rodeo. She currently has two dogs, Penny and Teddy.
Ashley’s other passion is fitness, health and wellness. She is currently studying to obtain her personal training license and is training for upcoming fitness competitions.
At Hilltop, Ashley makes sure our clients feel welcome when walking in the door and loves assisting with the care of all our “furry” clients!
StaciClient Care Specialist
Staci joined the Hilltop team in May 2018 and is a 2012 graduate of Colorado State University-Pueblo with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and a minor in Business Administration.
Staci was born in Canon City and moved to Pueblo shortly after meeting her husband in 2001. She is an avid dog lover, especially German Shepherds. In high school she spent her summers volunteering for the Colorado Rebel Riders Club during horse competitions and shows.
Outside of work, Staci enjoys spending time with her husband, reading, cooking, and crafting (especially sewing).
